Photographer & Naturalist
Mark Garbutt is a wildlife photographer with a special interest in
ornithology (birding). A lifetime spent as a naturalist in Alaska, Texas,
and Europe, Mark now moves between his homes in the US, Canada
and the UK. He offers a range of tours and workshops for all skill
levels and ages.
His experience includes running numerous interpretive programs for
schools & clubs in the US & Europe. As a volunteer interpreter at
Brazos Bend State Park, Texas, Mark has spent many years leading
interpretive programs for park visitors, school & handicapped groups
as well as weekend bird hikes.
He leads regular photography workshops in Canada and Alaska for
skill improvement, and offers photography tours in Alaska, South

Publications & Articles (the wall of shame)
Mark has photographs published in "FOCUS ON AFRICA", a travel hard cover book highlighting
the wildlife and lodges in Africa (a David Anderson Publication). He has also been featured in a
Life and Times article in the Herald Coaster and in the Outdoors section in the Houston
Chronicle, as well as being selected as a semi-finalist in the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the
year - 2007.
